Insights and messages from the District Governor Back
My Dear R1D 3131 Rotary Family,

We are at the end of July 2025 which has been the most hectic month full of Club Installations, presentation of Club Budgets and start of projects.

For me as the Installing officer, the spree of installations started from June 14th 2025 and I should be completing about 50 installations in 46 days. Visiting Clubs in the early part of the Rotary Year gave me opportunity to meet Rotarians and understand each club better. I am thankful to all the Clubs who invited First Lady PP Tanuuja and me for installations. All Clubs have planned the year 2025-26 very well and I am overwhelmed with their enthusiastic planning and innovative project ideas. All the Presidents are charged and have full support of their respective Members. Our AGs, District Secretariat and District Teams are doing splendid work in their respective roles and motivating all of us.

July1, 2025 started with the darshan of Shreemanth Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati followed by a modest inauguration of District Governor Office and a shower of good wishes from all corners of our district and my DG Batchmates.

Our first event was the Green Week activity at the Civil Count Metro Station which started on July 11, 2025 with a grand inauguration at 4.30 PM followed by Mega tree plantation at Gathagram, Dehu on July 20th 2025. This was very well planned and executed by the environment Team. Over 500 Rotarians, Spouse, Anns, Interactors, Rotaractors and Guests took active part. We were also joined by 40 employees of one CSR Partner company.

District Cultural Team in synergy with 18 Clubs organised ‘Mogara Phoolala” programme on July 31st evening at Yeshwantrao Chavan Auditorium, Kothrud, Pune.

August is Rotary’s designated month for Membership. We should concentrate our efforts towards organic growth in membership and 100% Retention and work towards giving a good experience to our members. To promote more participation of members in Club and District activities and towards our TRF, we have introduced Membership Participation Index (MPI). Points gained by every member would ensure good discounts from various establishments that have signed up with RID 3131.

We have added a separate CPI marking system for Clubs chartered since July 2022. The main objective for this is that new Clubs should concentrate more on Club building -strengthening club admin, compliances, membership and start contributing to TRF. Service projects would follow.

We have also added a new module -Vocational Directory in our RID3131 app. I would urge every Member to login and in your Profile enter your current profession or vocation which would benefit you for networking within our District’s Members.

We have 2 important events coming up in August:

District Monsoon Nature Walk and Fellowship Meet on August 3, 2025 at Malshej - a perfect time to take day off from a busy month of Installations, new initiatives and new projects.

Membership Seminar on August 24th at PYC Gymkhana Club – excellent opportunity to understand various initiatives mentioned above and hear from Rotary stalwarts on membership.

Kindly do not miss any of the two.

Let me wish each and every one of you the most successful and enjoyable Rotary Year. Let us keep our District’s Flag flying high. We have a lot to achieve in our generous contributions to TRF and service to the community.

Yours in Rotary Service,
DG Santosh Marathe
