Special DEI Project and A Club Picnic bring Happiness in November
It's not always scale that matters; the relevance and value of a service project carries weightage owing to its special reach.
With changing seasons, a mix of projects, engaging meetings, dinners and fellowships unfolded in November 2025 at the Rotary Club of Pune Baner.

Nov. 07, 2025 - Weekly meeting at Bal Kalyan Sanstha: An enlightening and awakening session on on 'The power of Pranic Healing' brought in a peaceful experience. The session was conducted by our member, Rtn. Swacchanda Awasare.
Nov. 16, 2025 - Weekly meeting, Winter Picnic and outdoor meeting:
A highly engaging and invigorating event, a Club winter picnic took place where members immersed in the joy of an outdoor gathering. It was held at a resort, Surya Shibhir, on the outskirts of the city.
Nov. 21, 2025 - Weekly meeting at Bal Kalyan Sanstha : This regular meeting, held as a joint meeting with RC Aundh, turned out to be a super hit. The topic, 'Humour in Rotary' was well elucidated by the speaker, sending rings of laughter amidst the audience. The speaker was none other than veteran public speaker, author and IT industry professional, PDG Dr. Deepak Shikarpur. He kept the audience glued to the seats.
Nov. 27, 2025 -Tree plantation Project in Synergy with the Pune Police at Baner Police Station : The club Service Projects Director, ( Non-Medical), Rtn. Dr. Sunita Dharmrao, the President, Rtn. Priiya Karia, Club admin dir. Rtn. Snehal Bhat, Membership Dir. Rtn. Archana Vaidya, Charter Member, Rtn. Sunita Sial and some others participated in a tree plantation Project held at the Baner Police Station. This Synergy with the police Department and the cause of environmental preservation made this a truly special project. Nearly 150 plus trees were planted at the location on this occasion.
Nov. 29, 2025 DEI Project at Bal Kalyan Sanstha, Kiila Making contest for Special Students, a DEI initiative: A truly memorable, heart touching and significant project was conducted by the Club on Nov. 29 in Synergy with the Rotaract clubs of Pune Baner and Indian Institute of Engineering and Business Management. The Bal Kalyan Sanstha was instrumental in providing space, and in bringing together more than 150 special students from about 22 special schools spread across Pune for a Killa Making Contest.
Students with disabilities like the deaf and the dumb, the visually impaired, people with multiple disabilities, mentally challenged and other kinds of disabilities participated with great zeal in this Killa making contest held by the Club. Making clay fort models is a traditional art in Maharashtra and the special students showcased their talents and creativity through this project. DG Rtn. Santosh Marathe gave away the prizes after the contest.
The Club President, Rtn. Priiya Karia led the project ably. Ms. Aparna Panse, Dir., Bal Kalyan Sanstha actively supported and lent her expertise in making this special project a great success.
The project saw participation by the teams of enthusiastic Rotaractors, with the President of the Rotaract Club of Pune Baner, leading the teams.
Dir. DEI, Rotary Dist. 3131, Rtn. Kranti Shah, Dist. Secretary (also Club Hon.Sec) Rtn. Unmesh Risbood, were also present.
Club Service Projects Dir. Dr. Sunita Dharmrao, Treasurer Rtn. Neelima Bhate, Membership Dir, Rtn. Archana Vaidya, Jt. Hon Sect. Rtn. Vaishali Zumbre, Rtn. Snehal Bhat, Club Admin. Dir., Rtn. Gupte, Rtn. Dr. Jignesh Karia, Club IT off. Rtn. Surhuda Kulkarni, were present too.
Rtn.Sagar And Ann Smita Admuthe, Ann Reshma Samarth and Annette Yash, Rtn. Rtn. Kishore and Ann. pranjali Girme lent special support by providing meals and the materials for this project.
The killa models were kept for public display at the venue for two days. This is sure to be a memorable event for the years to come. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion really achieved and celebrated thus.
