Strengthening of subcentres:

Project was undertaken by Rotary Club of Pune Shivajinagar in the month of February  2026.
Project aims to empower Subcentres under Primary Health Centres (PHC) by giving them Glucometer, Hb meter, Foetal Doppler, digital BP monitor and Pulse oximeter.  PHCs cover a larger population to the tune of 50,000 to 60,000 while Subcentres cover smaller population around 10,000 and need help of equipment.  In view of sky rising prevalences of metabolic disorders like diabetes, hypertension and coronary heart diseases these equipments are of great help.  From the point of view of Maternal and child health perspective, maternal anaemia is major health problem and Hb meters would be helpful for identifying ‘high risk’ mothers, while glucometers would be helpful for identifying gestational diabetes. The foetal doppler would be useful for examining whether heartbeats of the foetus are normal.  Health surveillance for non communicable diseases is essential and is now done routinely for which BP monitors, glucometers and Pulse oximeters are useful.
Rotary Club of Pune Shivajinagar donated these five equipments to all 26 subcentres covering the entire Mulashi Taluka in the presence of Taluka Health Officer.
