On 8th October 2023, Rotary Club Of Nigdi-Pune organised a mega half marathon "Runathon of Hope". Our Club's President Rtn Harbindar Singh with his entire Team supported by our Anns and Annets worked very hard for this successful event. 4500+ runners participated including professional Runners, corporate runners, Rotractors and college students. Various companies sponsored the event. Bank of Maharashtra, City One and SFL were the main sponsors for the event. This time our club invited orphanage girls, Army men, CRPF Jawaans, international runners from Kenya to participate in this marathon. DG Manjoo was the Chief Guest along with many District Dignitaries who graced the event with their presence. Boys 4 movie team from Marathi Film Industry was also invited for the event.

For the first time cultural dances (to promote Stree Shakti) by professional ladies was arranged to spread a word about save water, save girl child, protect and respect women in our community etc.

Demo on CPR session was given to the crowd for their awareness.

Various races were planned 21 km, 10 km, 5 km (under 45 age group), 5 km (above 45 age group), 2 km family run.

Family run was a special attraction this year where in all age groups (child, youngsters, men, women, senior citizens) participated together in 2 km Charity run.

Approximately 5 lakhs cash prizes, Trophies, certificates, T-shirts and medals were arranged.

Total cost of the event was around 46 lakhs. All participants were given T shirts, bibs and medals with Rotary branding. Complimentary breakfast was arranged.

Rotractors and interactors actively participated in the event. Amazing media coverage was done for pre as well as post event. 90.1 Radio FM and 90.4 Infinity Radio were our partners for the event. Various newspapers, social media coverage has done for the event.

Indeed this was a remarkable and successful event.
