Rotary Club Of Nigdi-Pune Honors Florina and Ashok Xavier with Prestigious Peace Building Award Back

In a momentous event, the Rotary Club Of Nigdi-Pune presented the Peace Building Award to Florina Xavier and Ashok Xavier for their outstanding contributions to refugee communities in Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and India. This commendable couple not only offered essential support to refugees but also played a pivotal role in instilling hope and resilience within these communities.

The distinguished award ceremony took place on January 5th, with Rotary International Director PDG Rtn. Virpi Honkala, PDG Rtn. Matti Honkala, Rotary District 3131 Peace Director Rtn. Dr. Prashant Khankhoje, along with Rotary Club Of Nigdi-Pune President Rtn. Harbindar Singh, First Lady Rtn. Kamaljeet Kaur, Club Admin Rtn. Dr. Ravindra Kadam, Vocational Chairman Rtn. Gautam Doshi, and Peace Director PP Rtn. Jagmohan Bhurji presenting the award.

The event garnered widespread participation, with Rotaractors and non-Rotarians invited to witness the grand ceremony. Florina Xavier, in an engaging discussion, shed light on critical issues and emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about peace among the masses.

PDG Rtn. Virpi from Rotary District 1400 expressed heartfelt gratitude for the strong bond between Rotary Club Of Nigdi-Pune and Rotary District 1400, where she actively participated in various projects as a foreign partner.

Special recognition was extended to Vocational Chairman Rtn. Gautam Doshi and Rtn. Rashmi Doshi for their commendable efforts in recommending, arranging, planning, and executing the Peace Award.

PP Rtn. Ranu and Rtn. Rakesh took charge of logistics, coordinating with foreign Rotary dignitaries, while PP Rtn. Pramod Deshmukh (Asst Governor 23-24 Rotary District 3131) introduced the esteemed awardee.

The invaluable support of First Lady Rtn. Kamaljeet and Rtn. Savita significantly contributed to the success of the entire event.
