ROTARY INDIA SHINING
Rotary International is an organisation of business and professional individuals united worldwide, who provide humanitarian services,encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and promote goodwill, peace and world understanding. Rotarians believe that if highest ethical standards are preserved by each and every individual many of the issues would not even surface. Another staunch belief which Rotarians have worldwide is that all the name, fame and accolades, that we receive in our chosen business,profession and vocation is thanks to various reasons ,but the three important are -
-we are qualified
-we are blessed children of almighty
-we have society acceptance
When we brainstorm on above ,the rational outcome of our thought process comes to, that whatever we are enjoying today is thanks to the community and thus it becomes our ernest duty to GIVE BACK to the society. We are giving back in form of time, energy, resources, professional expertise and wealth.
1980 to 1995 was the golden period for rotary when we grew up from 6 lakhs to 12 lakh Rotarians, during which we initiated our campaign for POLIO eradication. But since then in last three decades,we are blocked at 1.2 million. There has been a big number of floating population and there is also a visible regional shift. Countries like USA , Canada , Japan, Australia and others are witnessing decline in membership. And on the other hand India ,Philippines,Korea and others have shown positive growth.
At the start of this year USA had 2.6 lakh Rotarians and we are at number two with 1.72 lakh.
Our contribution to TRF has increased substantially. Last year we have contributed 38 million USD when total South Asia contribution is just 39.1 million.
Friends, we are doing great as a country and so in Rotary. So in present times we need to put our best foot forward and still strengthen our position, so that we get at the TOP of the table in next decade. This gives us an opportunity to voice our country specific concerns at international forum.
The one and only important aspect being we should continue displaying great Empathy and Sensitivity towards humanitarian concern and preserve best profile as Rotarian . Driving out politics at all levels is equally essential.
ROTARY INDIA IS SHINING and shall shine more brighter with your contribution.
