As part of our environmental initiative, The Rotary Club of Poona West distributed 1000 sets of washable, reusable, and environment-friendly sanitary cloth pads to the inmates of Women’s Prison, Yerawada, Pune. The project, executed with CSR funds amounting to 3.50 lakhs INR, saw the distribution of pads at the hands of DSP Prison - Ms. Pallavi Kadam, and First Lady, Rtn. Dr. Madhuri Ghate, along with Rtn. Vaishali Gadre - Chairperson of the Environment Committee.

Rtns. Vaishali Gadre and Vaijayanti Patharkar explained the importance and benefits of using reusable pads, highlighting their hygienic nature and cost-effectiveness. Most importantly, these pads do not cause environmental pollution during disposal and can be reused for up to three years.

We received substantial support from the jail administration, particularly from DIG Prisons (Western Region) Ms. Swati Sathe, SP - Prison, Mr. Sunil Dhamal, and DSP Prison - Ms. Pallavi Kadam.

The occasion was attended by President Rtn. Vipin Ghate, President-Elect Rtn. Niranjan Mathure, and Rtn. Anil Sapre. Rtns. President Rtn. Vaijayanti Patharkar and Santosh Chiplunkar took efforts to execute this project.
