Rotary District Conference is an annual event where Rotarians come together for fellowship, learning, and service. It's a chance to network with other Rotarians, learn about Rotary's work around the world, and be inspired to make a difference in your community. The event recognises the service programs, projects, and public relations achievements in our District in order to inspire Rotarians to become more involved in service. The conference should also give Rotarians and clubs a vision of Rotary beyond the club level and provide a memorable fellowship experience. Many Rotarians have said that they were never truly enthusiastic about Rotary until they saw an inspirational presentation at a district conference.

RID 3131 is a vibrant District and all District Conferences are very enjoyable. I have been attending all Conferences now for the past 18 years. I have also attended Conferences of other Districts. I have been RIPR in UK where culture and rotary ways of working were totally different. In India we have large gatherings for District Conferences (1000+), but same is not the case elsewhere. In USA when I attended RID 6600 Conference in 2008 and in UK for RID 1270 we had hardly 200 people in the audience. In Europe Conferences are held in August which is best season for them to hold.

There are some general things you can expect at a Rotary District Conference:

• Keynote speakers: There will be keynote speakers who will talk about Rotary's work in areas such as peace and conflict resolution, disease prevention, and economic development.
• Networking opportunities: There will be plenty of opportunities to meet Rotarians from other clubs and districts.
• Cultural events: There will be cultural events that showcase the diversity of India.
• Banquet: There will be a banquet or other social event to celebrate Rotary's accomplishments.

If a new member attends a District Conference, he/she will always remain in Rotary. Conference is the best place to learn about Diversity and Completeness of Rotary World.  I will always cherish 2014 District Conference (Snehbandh Synergy) which was held when I was District Governor of RID 3131.

Now I understand that District Conference will be an Optional part for Future, but I hope that RID 3131 holds District Conferences Forever. Where else you get chance to meet so many friends in One Roof.
