Club Information :-

Rotary Club of Poona chartered in 1936 has been actively involved in humanitarian projects since its inception. They cover a wide spectrum ranging from constructing water tanks and toilet blocks for school children, earthquake relief operations, the Miyawaki urban forest or medical projects like  paediatric surgeries,  automated wheelchairs for disabled soldiers, baby warmers, carrying out polio corrective surgeries, including donations of surgical equipment, ambulance for cardiac patients, dialysis equipment, ventilator units and the Human Milk collection Van.

But noteworthy amongst them all is the Global Grants Watershed project for the economic development of 20 villages in Sangamner District which has been successfully carried out over the last 9 years with a capital outlay of 10 crore rupees.

Club's signature fund-raising events, the Dandiya Raas and the Cyclothon have brought to fruition many of its projects.

Another proud moment of RC Poona, which many are unaware of, was an event in 1956 when Rotary International adopted, for all Rotary Clubs world-wide, the Nominating Committee Election process which had been pioneered by RC Poona Club in 1951-52.
