In order to increase awareness about Cyber Safety in school children, a Cyber
Safety Interschool quiz competition was conducted under Child Development
Avenue of Basic Education and literacy. Rotary Club of Poona West was the
nodal club for the project. Rtn Dr Madhuri Ghate Co-Chair Child Development
was the project in charge at District level and Club level. Chair Child
Development Rtn Darshana Gujar, PP Bhagyashree Bhide, PP Rita Kothari, PP
Vishwas Sapre, PP Vipin Ghate and President RC Poona West Santosh
Chiplunkar formed the core team for conducting the project.
31 Rotary clubs were the synergy partners and 64 schools connected to these
Rotary Clubs participated in this project.

The project was conducted in 3 stages from August to November.

Awareness: A booklet and 12 set of videos in English & Marathi on cyber safety
were circulated among all students of class 8 th & 9 th of participating Interact
schools.
Preliminary Online Quiz -A preliminary online round was conducted where
schools from both urban & rural areas of the district participated on 19 th
September.
Final Physical round was conducted for 10 finalist schools on 15 th November at
CPR Auditorium Pashan, DG Santosh Marathe and First Lady Tanuuja Marathe
graced the occasion. Superintendent of Police Kakasaheb Dole was the Chief
Guest and SPI Cyber Cell Swapnali Shinde was the Guest of Honour. Rtn
Advocate Vaishali Bhagwat was the Judge for the competition.

The winners of the competition were St Xaviers School and Junior College,
Mahad (RC Raigad Fort) and Euro School, Waked (RC Talegaon City) were the
runners up. The beneficiary count was more than ten thousand.
