Rotary Club of Pune Royal Launches DEI Initiative with Felicitation of Bharti Vidyapeeth Security Staff on Pune, 9th July 2025

Rotary International has recently introduced a new avenue of service – DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) – aimed at fostering respect, equal opportunity, and inclusion across all sections of society.  As part of this forward-looking initiative, a special felicitation program was organized on Wednesday, 9th July 2025, at Bharti Vidyapeeth, Pune, to honour the contribution of its security staffThe program recognized and appreciated the silent yet vital role played by security personnel in maintaining safety and discipline on the campus. 

The event was graced by key Rotary International District 3131 leaders: 
Rtn. Kranti Shah, District Director – DEI, Rtn. Shubhangi Mulay, District Co-Director – DEI, Rtn. Ankush Parakh, District Co-Director – DEI 
On this occasion, Rtn. Kranti Shah, District Director – DEI addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of building an inclusive society that acknowledges and respects every individual, regardless of their role or background. She explained how DEI is not just a concept but a much-needed cultural shift for sustainable peace and development. 
Rtn. Medha Kulkarni, President of Rotary Club of Pune Royal, shared a heartfelt message: "We often take services from some members of society but rarely recognize their contribution. This is our small effort to include them in our routine and acknowledge their efforts with respect and gratitude." 

In a touching moment, one of the security staff members shared that this was the first time someone had acknowledged their efforts, and he wholeheartedly thanked Rotary Club of Pune Royal for their recognition and respect. 
This initiative by Rotary underlines its commitment to uplifting every segment of society and promoting a culture of diversity, equality, and inclusion.
