District Foundation Seminar ‘Nirmaan’
On 28th. November 2025, the Rotary Club of Poona (RCP) hosted “Nirmaan” RID 3131 seminar on the Rotary Foundation under the stewardship of convenor of the Seminar PP Rtn Kailash Monga and Club President Rohit Mittra. The event was held at the Pocha Hall of the Royal Connaught Boat club.
In his opening remarks, the President of RCP thanked DG Santosh Marathe for having given the Club the opportunity to host this prestigious event and concluded his address with the screening of a film highlighting the salient dates and events in the history of our 90-year-old club which garnered a huge applause. The Convenor Rtn Kailash Monga in his address acknowledged Rtn Dr. Jignesh Pandya’s role in the making of the film before moving onto essential information for delegates and acknowledging the presence of PDG Pankaj Shah DRFC 2025-28 and others in the district team.
DG Santosh Marathe emphasized how a number of clubs had benefitted from grants through the TRF for sustainable projects notably in the area of water and sanitation. Grants Officer RI, Caroline Kwak in her presentation explained in detail the procedure for applying for a global grant for projects in the 7 focus areas and the criteria for a project to be selected for the same.
Chief guest AKS Rtn Muruganandam M, RI Director 2025-27 highlighted the fact that for the year 2024-25, India ranked second, just behind the USA amongst the list of top giving countries to the TRF and urged the district to set new records, increase membership and create new Rotaract and interact clubs. The last part of the seminar was devoted to CSR.
The presentations were interspersed by awards in various categories. The Palmares for RCP was shared by Rtn Kailash Monga, Rtn Anjali Telang and Rtn Dr Suresh Deshpande. The 4-hour event concluded with a Vote of thanks by PE Aarti Thacker was followed by a sumptuous fellowship. Each participant received a small Gifts and left with fond memories of the TRF seminar.
