The Report of the projects carried out under different verticals of Supporting the Environment Avenue
Guideline for Plastic Free School, Society is prepared and circulated among all the presidents. Most of the clubs have implemented the guidelines. 6 schools are identified for making Plastic Free. Plastic Free School Certificate is given to Vanaj Pariwar School on Paud Road.
Bottle shape Plastic shape collector designed was posted on the Group. Rotary Club of Daud got it fabricated & installed these in school and public places.
On occasion of World Environment Health Day Eco Utsav was organized in Nehru Sanskrutik Bhavan, Ghole Road Pune on 26th Sept 2025 in Association with Pune Municipal Corporation, The Eco Factory Foundation, Suhana Masale, and The Ecologic Foundation & Environment Club of India. The program is hosted by Rotary Club of Pune Westside along with Partner clubs RCP Warje, RCP West, RCP Sahawas
Plastic waste collection drive was organized by RC Mahd, RC Raigad Fort & other clubs of the District.
- Life Style For Environment
Green Week Mission, introduced by Rtn. Rajendrakumar Saraf, is a structured environmental initiative designed to bridge the gap between awareness and action. Rather than focusing on grand, overwhelming goals, it emphasizes a manageable, habit-forming approach to sustainability. Since July every week one task is given.
Guidelines for activities in Mission LiFE: In Diwali Festival Guidelines to have Green Diwali is posted along with relevance of each day of Diwali with Environment is posted.
Peace of Mind, One Sanitary Disposal at a Time – Many clubs have provided the sanitary napkin vending machine & incinerator for Sanitary Napkins.
Steel Cutlery Kendra with Dishwasher is implemented by Rtn Ganesh Bora of Rotary Club of Walhekarwadi. The messages are posted in the Zonal Groups to adopt Life Style for Environment.
- Rotary My City My Promise: This has set the bench mark as the song is played in Ganesh Festival and various program. Many people have signed the pledge for RMCPM
- Community Action For fresh water: Chaundhe Talav near Bhugao is adopted for this project. 400 sapling were provided for the plantation around the lake. Rtn Yogesh Bhangale generously donated Rs 40000 for tree guard. A Hurda party was arranged for the Members of Rotary Club in Kothrud Warje & Pashan to discuss the activities of Chaundhe Talav. . The Party was hosted by Shri Pravin Lunkad. Rotary Club of Pune Shawas arranged Rive walk on 14th Dec to make the people aware of their water resources.
River Clean up drive was taken by Rotary Club of Mahad and other Clubs
The Nirmalya Collection drive was organized by many Clubs during Ganesh Festival.
The Eco Factory Foundation agreed to provide 150000 sapling for platation
25000 sapling were planted by Prison Authority in Pune
15000 sapling were planted by Prison Authority in Open Jain at Paithan
90000 sapling were planted by Pune Police at various Police station
Balance sapling were plated by the clubs at different location
Mega Tree Plantation Drive was conducted on the land near Evo Green City Dehu. 25 clubs with 500 participants participated in the drive around 6000 sapling were planted.
In all the plantation site the concerned authority or organization is responsible to ake care of the plant for next 3 year.
Dense Forest in Urban Area: Dense Forest on 1 acre of land of Pune Prison Area is in progress. By end of this month the plantation will be complete.
Plantation is also done by the Rotary Club of Talegaon, Daund, Baramati, & others.
5000 saplings wewre distributed to the students under Maze Zaad Maaze Bal Program.
- Walk through Nature: The program was launched in Empress Garden in Presence of First Lady Tanuuja Marathe. 7 Nature walks were organized till date Oho Garden, Alice Garden etc. This has brought the participants closer to nature
- National Environment Awareness Campaign: Nirmalya Compsting Workshop was conducted in Ferguson College. Train the Trainer Workshop for Environment Stewardship in association with RC Poona North. Workshop on Upcycling at New English School Panvel, Workshop on Environment Stewardship at Mahesh Vidyalay Daund. The appeal was made to celebrate World Water Day, World Earth Day and many more. World Day was celebrated with inmates of Open Prison Yerwada. Poster completion was organized during Eco Utsav and Conference on Net Zero.
- Sustainable Agriculture for Future: Three Workshops were organized in Indapur, Yawat & Varve in association with respectively RC Indapur, RC Daund & RCP Yuva. Around 800 farmers participated in the Workshop. Beekeeping for Pollination and Honey, Solar + Farming = Agrivoltaic Solar Farms, Excess Non saleable crop to value added products, Growing Millets, Chemical Free Farming, Converting Agricultural residue in to Value added Product. Urban Farming & Net Zero farming were discussed in the workshop.
- Carbon Net Zero: The unique project is launched in Association with ESRAG Climate Solution Task Force. 35 Rotary Clubs 5 Gram Panchayat one individual & 3 Educational Institutes committed to become Net Zero. This is record breaking number in Rotary International. Orientation programs were organized for the Presidents of all the commited clubs. After Audit clubs will be given the Net Zero Certificate
- Be Part of Solution Not Pollution. Help Prison to rectify their Biogas Plant. Director Rtn Rajendrakumar Saraf written a Booklet on Green Food for Green Earth to reduce Carbon Dioxide emission from food. Prepare the Guidelines for Green Event and circulated among all the Presidents. Promoted the Compost making at home and society. Director Rajendrakumar Saraf Chairpersons Rtn Alefiya Rohawala, Rtn Apurva Desai, Rtn Sunita Shirguppi have delivered the lectures on Environment related topics.
Trashion Show: A "trashion" show is a fashion event where designers create clothing and accessories from trash and recycled materials, promoting sustainability and waste reduction. It was successfully organized during Panvel Rotary Festival in Panvel.
- Erase- E-waste: Unique activity is launched for getting money for the E-Waste. MOU signed with the E-Waste Processors to collect the E-Waste and pay the money to Rotary Foundation. 12 E-Waste collection drive undertaken till date.
- Exhibition: Sustainable Development Festivals was organized in Association with The Eco factory Foundation and hosted by Rotary Club of Pimpri.
- Conference: First time in the history of RID 313 Rotary Multi District Conference on Environment with theme Circular Economy was organized on 14th & 15th March 2026 in Dnyaneshwar Hall MIT Pune. Dr Balkrishna Pisupati UNEP Director was the chief guest. Galaxy of Speakers share their experience and knowledge with participants. 21 clubs join as host. It was a grand success.
- MOU: Memorandum of Understanding was signed with The Rotary Factory Foundation, Pune Metro and Pune Police and Prisons and Correctional Services, Pune. Spectrum of activities are being carried out with these authorities.
