Shring a Brief Report from Ms. Aditi Mutatkar, Poject Head, Women in Sport at Simply Sport Foundation, Bangalore on her recent visit to Paris to attend Workshop as Speaker at World Badminton Championship in Paris.
" I wanted to write to all of you to inform you about a significant milestone for the Women Health Program at Simply Sport.
From the 27th to 30th August, at the BWF Coaches Conference held at Paris alongside the World Badminton Championships, Simply Sport partnered with the Badminton World Federation to bring female athlete health to the global stage.
We delivered a workshop on menstruation and sport for female coaches from around the world, hosted a kiosk that engaged over 100 coaches from 40 countries, and jointly released the Simply Periods Handbook, a resource designed for athletes and coaches on menstruation and sport. The resource is reviewed by Liverpool John Moores University.
This work matters because it puts female athlete health, so often overlooked, at the centre of global coach education. It signals that performance, participation, and safeguarding are all tied to how we understand and support women’s physiology in sport.
For India, it also establishes leadership: a homegrown program shaping international standards.
Looking ahead, this partnership with BWF is expanding into research, more resources, and a global digital certification for athletes and coaches. We also see clear opportunities to bring these learnings back home, piloting implementation with academies, state associations, and grassroots programs. "
