Rotary Club of Talegaon Dabhade Organizes Wall Painting Competition to Beautify Community*
The Rotary Club of Talegaon Dabhade has successfully organized a transformative wall painting competition to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city while spreading meaningful social messages. This event involved 21 different schools, engaging students and their drawing teachers in a creative initiative aimed at revitalizing unsightly walls plagued by dirt and algae.
In collaboration with the Talegaon Municipal Council, the Rotary Club launched an initiative to convert neglected walls into vibrant canvases that convey social messages. Building on the government’s “Vasundhara Abhiyan 2025” initiative, the club identified key environmental themes for the wall paintings, including air pollution, soil pollution, water pollution, urban waste management, and the importance of trees.
Over the course of the project, ten students from each participating school, alongside their art teachers, were assigned a specific concept to focus on. They were given 10 days to develop their ideas on paper, and after a review and minor modifications, they were permitted to bring their designs to life on the walls.
The event took place on February 25, 2025, in celebration of the 120th Rotary Day, and was met with enthusiasm and appreciation from the local residents. This project has significantly enhanced the public image of the Rotary Club in Talegaon Dabhade, a community the club has served for over 32 years.
Project Incharge Rtn Sharmila Shah, along with her dedicated team members—Rtn. Rajendra Godbole, Club Environment Director, Ann Mrinalini, Rtn. Vedang Mahajan, Public Image Director, and first lady Ann Shubhangi Karle—played a vital role in conceptualizing and executing the event.
The Rotary Club also extends special thanks to AG Rtn. Deepak Phalle and District 3131 Public Image Director Rtn. Prasad Ganpule, Rtn. Yogesh Shinde for their invaluable support.
Special appearance of Artist Omkar Jadhav and his team added many colours to this event.
The Rotary Club of Talegaon Dabhade remains committed to community service and looks forward to more initiatives that foster creativity, promote environmental awareness, and contribute to the beautification of the city.
