The Inali camp at Darbhanga ( Bihar )
Darbhanga witnessed yet another milestone in our journey of service as we conducted our third camp in this historic city.
Each camp strengthens not only artificial limbs, but also human resolve. Darbhanga once again reminded us that       when service meets compassion, transformation is inevitable. In Darbhanga, two extraordinary individuals reminded us why this mission matters.

Faces of Courage – Darbhanga 2026

In Darbhanga, two extraordinary individuals reminded us why this mission matters.

Shri Gorakh Rajak – The Artist of Resilience

In 2002, a high-voltage electrical accident claimed both of Gorakh’s hands. What could have ended his aspirations instead ignited an extraordinary journey of courage. A beneficiary of our LN4 Camp in Darbhanga in 2018, he refused to let physical loss define his future. Teaching himself to draw and paint by holding a pen between his residual limbs, he transformed adversity into artistry. Today, he is a fine artist whose work reflects strength, discipline and hope. He performs many daily tasks independently, demonstrating remarkable adaptability and self-reliance.

At the recent Darbhanga camp, he drew significant media attention. Reporters recorded his story, cameras followed his movements, and his journey once again inspired all present. With a substantial social media following, Gorakh continues to motivate thousands through both his art and his indomitable spirit.

He is not merely a beneficiary — he is a symbol of resilience in motion.

Deepak Kumar – Courage After Catastrophe

Deepak’s life changed in a single, tragic moment. Travelling in an overcrowded train, he was pushed near the door of a moving coach and fell out. In a desperate attempt to save himself, he tried to hold onto the handle bars while falling. The accident resulted in the loss of both his hands. As he narrated the incident, he spoke of lying conscious on the ground, of being rushed to the hospital, and of undergoing amputation while fully aware. The trauma he endured is beyond words. Yet, standing before us was not a broken young man — but a determined one. At the Darbhanga camp, Deepak received his prosthetic hands, marking the beginning of a new chapter. The moment symbolized more than rehabilitation; it represented restoration of confidence, dignity and possibility.

We sincerely wish him strength, opportunity and a bright future ahead.

These stories remind us that our camps do more than fit prosthetic hands — they restore belief. They rebuild independence. They rekindle dreams.

Darbhanga was not just a camp. It was a celebration of human courage.
