Environmental Stewardship – train the trainer workshop hosted by Rotary Club of Aundh Back

The Rotary Club of Aundh recently hosted a dynamic workshop aimed at training Rotarians, Rotaractors, and environmental enthusiasts in effective communication and environmental stewardship. The workshop, led by the esteemed Rtn Rajeshkumar Saraf, was attended by 21 eager participants.

Rtn Saraf began by emphasizing the importance of effective communication and shared insights on becoming a proficient speaker. He delved into the nuances of listening, the engineering behind it, and the sequential operations involved. Drawing inspiration from the tale of the Rabbit and the Tortoise, he beautifully illustrated the concept of capacity building.

Transitioning to the topic of environmental stewardship, Rtn Saraf invoked Mahatma Gandhi's famous quote, "Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs but not every man's greed." He discussed the evolution of human lifestyle and its impact on the environment, highlighting various types of pollution and their sources. Participants engaged in lively discussions on potential solutions, focusing on individual, familial, and collective actions.

Rtn Saraf then elucidated on the eight focus pillars of environmental stewardship, urging participants to reflect on these areas in alignment with the workshop's thrust areas. The participants were divided into three teams, each tasked with presenting their thoughts, focus areas, and planned actions. Rtn Saraf lauded the teams' presentations and offered valuable tips for success as a trainer.

All participants were awarded certificates and encouraged to conduct similar workshops in their communities, schools, and colleges. The workshop was expertly designed and organized by Rtn Sachin Moralwar and Ann Prerana Moralwar. The event was chaired by Mr. Rajendra Shelar, Secretary, and anchored by Rtn Sachin Moralwar, President-elect of the Rotary Club of Aundh. Rtn Ravindra Nerlikar extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, and Environment Director Rtn Vasantrao Malunjkar also actively participated in the workshop.

The Rotary Club of Aundh presented Rtn Saraf with a token of appreciation for his invaluable contribution. Moreover, several non-Rotary participants expressed interest in joining Rotary and contributing to environmental causes.
