A Memorable Journey with the District Publication Team

In the Rotary year 2024–25, I had the privilege of serving as Co-Director – Publication Directory at the district level.

This role brought me closer to the heart of Rotary communications and gave me a deeper appreciation of the effort, creativity, and teamwork that go into keeping members informed and engaged.

Being part of the District Publication Team, I was closely involved in the creation of the Governor’s Monthly Letter (GML) — a vital medium that connects clubs across the district, celebrates achievements, and shares knowledge. My specific contribution was to conceptualize and manage the Quiz Section in each issue, which quickly became a popular feature.

The quiz was a true team effort — a group of us would brainstorm and compile the questions every month, ensuring a good mix of fun, facts, and Rotary knowledge. Our aim was to make members think, smile, and sometimes even dig a little deeper into Rotary’s legacy and values. Once published, it was heartening to see enthusiastic participation from members across clubs.

I also had the job of tracking entries, compiling the responses, and announcing the Top 5 winners in the next issue — a small way to recognize and appreciate member engagement. Watching the quiz become something members looked forward to was both fulfilling and encouraging.

What made this experience truly memorable was the spirit of collaboration within the publication team. Working with the rest of the editorial and design team was a delight. Each person brought creativity, precision, and heart to the table — and I learned a great deal from this shared experience.

“Rotary has taught me many things — but above all, it has shown me that when passionate people come together with purpose, even a simple idea like a quiz can create connection, joy, and learning across hundreds of hearts.”

This journey has not only enhanced my understanding of Rotary but also helped me grow personally — in terms of responsibility, creativity, and teamwork. It has been a rewarding chapter in my Rotary journey.

Grateful for the opportunity, and looking forward to many more such meaningful journeys with Rotary.
