As the Rotary year started, I was excited to be working with the GML team. Shubhangi Mulay, our team leader was very clear about her ideas and wanted to start a “Clubs Corner” where we would in introduce clubs of Dist. 3131 to the Rotarians of the district. I was given this challenging and fun responsibility.

We decided to cover 12 to 14 clubs in each issue. These ranged from small rural clubs to large urban clubs. We developed a format for them to report their focus areas. Presidents had just started their years and were busy with their activities. Convincing them of the importance of filling this form was the first task at hand. Varied responses!! from enthusiastic to confused. From many phone calls later we did get information from many clubs.

Speaking to all of them getting information and editing their information was a tremendous task.Shubhangi was a pillar of support when I lost patience sometimes. In the process of contacting Presidents from across the districts I made friends across the district and I saw the tremendous contribution Rotary made to change lives magically for so many people. All focus areas of Rotary are covered by the Rotary right from Environment to complex Cardiac surgeries. Rotary seemed to wave its wand of happiness in whatever it touched. Writing about the tremendous work done by Dist 3131 over the year made me tremendously proud of belonging to this district. We managed to cover more than 116 clubs in the “Club Corner” over the year

Under the able Leadership of DG Rtn.Shital Shah and with the excellent mentorship of Rtn.Vrinda Walimbe we were able to release all the GML Issues completely in blog format and could achieve the viewership of 10,000.

Working with the enthusiastic GML team was an enriching experience and a year to remember.
