My Presidentship Journey – Rotary Year 2025-26

As I reflect on my year as Club President, I realize leadership is not measured by meetings, reports, or projects, but by lives touched and hope restored.

The year brought challenges, difficult decisions, and moments of self-doubt. Yet every obstacle became lighter because of the unwavering support of my Rotary family. Together, we served with compassion, purpose, and commitment.

Among many memories, one will remain with me forever.

A four-year-old girl travelled from a remote village in Kenya with her mother seeking freedom from severe epilepsy. Before surgery, she could barely keep her eyes open, slept most of the day, ate very little, and rarely responded to the world around her. Her mother carried years of fear, uncertainty, and prayer.

Seven days after surgery, the little girl began responding and communicating. Her eyes opened to the world once again.

While everyone celebrated the medical success, I found myself watching her mother. For the first time, I saw relief replace fear and hope replace helplessness.

The collar I wore for a year will eventually be passed on. The memories will not. Whenever I think of my Presidentship, I will remember a little girl opening her eyes to the world and a mother whose tears finally carried relief instead of fear. That moment taught me that Rotary’s greatest gift is the privilege of witnessing hope come alive.
