DG Santosh Marathe thoughts Back

Dear Friends,

I am sure each one of you enjoyed the festivities in October. Let us get back to a more serious, yet a month which brings to us a sense of satisfaction. A month in which we find our purpose to be in Rotary.

November is a month that holds a special place in the Rotary calendar — it is The Rotary Foundation Month, a time to celebrate the power of giving and the spirit of service that binds us together across the world. The Rotary Foundation is the heart of Rotary’s service. Every contribution, big or small, helps Rotary to do more good in the world.

Every project we proudly undertake — whether it brings clean water, protects our environment, green energy, literacy, healthcare, or peace — carries the invisible strength of The Rotary Foundation behind it. It transforms our compassion into action and our generosity into sustainable change.

As we reflect on our service so far this Rotary year, let us also renew our commitment to support our Foundation — through our personal contributions and by inspiring our clubs and members to participate wholeheartedly. Through Rotary’s Global Grant system every dollar we contribute goes further through the strength of Rotary’s global network, ensuring that help reaches where it is needed most.

Our generous contributions help to give hope, dignity, and a better chance to a happier life to someone. It gives us the joy of seeing a life changed and the pride of being a Rotarian who makes a real difference.

This November, let us reaffirm our District 3131’s proud tradition of generosity and service. Let us aim for 100% Member participation in Foundation giving this month. Together, we can ensure that District 3131 continues to stand tall among leading districts in the world supporting The Rotary Foundation, not for the sake of recognition, but for the difference our giving creates in countless lives. Friends, though no contribution is too small when it comes from the heart, yet we should not be satisfied with any amount less than $100 when we can easily give in it’s multiple.

Let us make this November a celebration of Rotary’s spirit of giving – where every dollar becomes a promise of hope, health and happiness for the world.

It is my humble request to all to put our hands in our deep pockets and contribute generously to TRF. We certainly owe this to our Organisation for doing good for the community.

Our District Foundation Team will help you in processing the payments for you. Do welcome them when they reach out to you.

Friends, we have our TRF Seminar on November 28, 2025 at Pocha Hall, Boat Club. The host club is RC Poona. RID MMM will be the Chief Guest. We should showcase our best performance to him. Our Regional Grants Officer, Ms Caroline Kwak is expected to address us at the Seminar and also visit a few Global Grant funded projects across the District. The flyer of this event has already been shared with all clubs and I would request you attend. You would have a lot of good take away from the seminar. We would be recognising our TRF donors at the hands of RID MMM.

Our Medical Mission from Kathua, J&K led by EPNC PDG Dr Girish Gune is back after great service to the poor. We would get an opportunity to hear from him about the mission and would also be felicitating the team at the seminar.

I thank each of you for your dedication, leadership, and trust in Rotary’s mission. May the spirit of giving continue to guide us as we serve above self.

With warm regards,
Rtn Santosh Marathe
District Governor 2025–26
