Rotary Club of Poona Hosts yet another Hit Fundraiser Event ‘Dandiya Raas – 25’:
On 26th September, Rotary Club of Poona celebrated its annual signature fundraiser, Dandiya Raas – 25, with tremendous enthusiasm at Poona Club, Camp. What began in 1997 under the leadership of PP Praful Shah has steadily grown into one of the Club’s most cherished traditions and PI event. This event witnessed an impressive turnout of over 850 participants and achieved record-breaking fundraising.
More than 20 Rotary Clubs joined in, with members, families, and friends adding to the festive spirit. DJ Venky belted out vibrant Garba beats leading to high-energy garba performances. Anchor Monica Jain kept the audience engaged, while professional choreographers guided dancers of all ages.
The team of 4 judges had a challenging time, shortlisting the best dancers & best dressed winners in males, females & couple categories as well as the Bal Gopal and Gopi awards for children. Prizes were generously sponsored by Desai Brothers (Pitaara Gift Hampers), Smart Watches, and Sanskriti Sarees. A thrilling lucky draw by Malabar Diamonds added further excitement.
Guests enjoyed a lavish spread at the food counters, while the Selfie Booth sponsored by Desai Bandhu was a major crowd-puller. Venky’s continued their longstanding tradition of support with a generous contribution, facilitated by Rtn Dr. Kapil Desai.
Funds raised from ‘Dandiya Raas – 25’ will be directed toward impactful Club projects, including: Cervical cancer prevention through vaccination, Paediatric heart surgeries, Development of School Infrastructure in rural areas.

The ecstatic winners received prizes at the hands of Chief guest DG Rtn Santosh Marathe, President Rohit Mittra & dignitaries PDG Pankaj Shah, PDG Vivek Aranha, PP Kailash Monga, PP Trilok Kamdar & PP Praful Shah. This milestone event was organised by PP Maithili Manakawad & team
‘Dandiya Raas – 25’ not only celebrated the cultural vibrancy of Navratri but also underscored the Club’s strength, its commitment to ‘Service Above Self’ and its role in uniting communities for the greater good.
