Inauguration of Physiotherapy & Maternity ward
Free Physiotherapy Centre & an upgraded Maternity Ward at Smt. Draupadabai Murlidhar Khedekar Hospital, Bopodi, Pune was inaugurated by The Chief Guest, MLA Shri. Siddharth Shirole on 25th of April 2025.
This project is started by Rotary Club of Poona Downtown in collaboration with Sancheti Hospital, Pune Municipal Corporation & was made possible due the continued Phlanthropic support from Rtn. Neeru Goel & Rtn. Anil Goel, Chairperson, Duroshox Pvt. Ltd.

Shital Shah, Chairman of Duroshox , AKS Rtn. Anil Goel & his wife Rtn. Neeru Goel, Medical Director of Rotary Club of Poona Downtown Rtn.Dr Zimra Israel and Chairperson of Medical Services Rtn. Pervin Sadekar , Rotary Downtown President Rtn.PNN Iyer ,Mr. Parshuram Wadekar, Mrs Sunita Wadekar Ex.Deputy Mayor(Pune), Mrs Manisha Sanghavi (Chairperson SHA), Dr. Nina Borade and Rotary members were present.
Siddharth Shirole highly appreciated the valuable services rendered by the Rotary Club of Downtown and appealed to the local people to take advantage of free Physiotherapy and Maternity services of this Hospital.
Rtn.Dr Zimra Israel said that " This Municipal Hospital has a Free 10-bed Dialysis Centre put up by Rotary Club of Poona Downtown.The newly set up Physiotherapy Centre has ultra modern machines & auxiliary equipments. The Maternity ward is a 10 -bed set-up with an attached, independent Labour Room with all new medical equipments. All these three facilities meet the relevant medical-standards and provide round the clock services."
Rtn. Pervin Sadekar introduced dignitaries and all supporters were thanked by PresidentRtn. Prof PNN Iyer for their valuable contribution .
“Asha - ek- Kiran“
A training session for Asha workers and Angan sevikas was designed by Rotary District 3131 in collaboration with Bharathi Vidyapeeth Medical College. A program was organized at the Pune Municipal Corporation , Shivaji Nagar on 29th April 2025, where 300 women were trained for 4 hours on all aspects featuring maternal and child health. Topics covered were , breast cancer, care of new born, malnutrition and vaccinations . A reference booklet was distributed to each attendee.

The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Sunita Wadekar , Ex Dy Mayor and Corporator Mrs. Himali Kamble.
Dr. Mrs.Mrunal Ketkar, Prof Surgery of Bharathi Vidyapeeth Medical College, Dr. Mrs. Varsha Vaidya, Prof. Community Medicine, Dr. Sudhanshu Mahajan and Dr. Shraddha Thorat, Asst. Lecturer all from Bharathi Vidyapeeth Medical College and a representative of Badlav NGO spoke on the above topics.
The event organised by the Rotary Clubs of Rotary District 3131 acknowledged the support of Pune Municipal Corporation for the Venue and it's highly supportive Team.
