Butterfly Garden by Rotary Club of Pune Royal
Rotary Club of Pune Royal successfully conducted a Tree Plantation Drive for developing a Butterfly Garden at RMD Sinhgad Spring Dale School, Warje. This initiative was jointly carried out with Vanadevrai Foundation, Kothrud and RMD Sinhgad Spring Dale School, Warje.
The project was inaugurated by Club President Rtn. Medha Kulkarni and School Principal Mrs. Asha Dhore. The Vanadevrai Foundation team was led by Mr. Lalasaheb Mane, Mr. Shailesh Kandhare and Mrs. Yogita Kandhare.
The Butterfly Garden project was thoughtfully planned to create a natural habitat for butterflies. The selected plants support butterfly activity, as butterflies lay eggs on these plants and their lifecycle begins there. Along with butterfly-friendly plants, several medicinal and Ayurvedic plants were also planted.
To ensure proper maintenance, each sapling has been connected to a drip irrigation system. Informative boards displaying Marathi and botanical names of the plants have also been installed for educational awareness among students. A small water pond was additionally created for birds.
A total of 42 saplings were planted as per the requirements shared by the school.
