RAGFP INDIA CHAPTER
The Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP) is a global community of peacebuilders dedicated to advancing peace through Rotary’s vast network. Formed as an official, non-political, and independent body, RAGFP supports the Rotary mission of promoting peace, conflict resolution, and understanding worldwide.
RAGFP offers tools, education, and a network to Rotarians and clubs interested in initiating and sustaining peace projects. It collaborates with peace organizations, promotes the Rotary Peace Fellowships, and encourages grassroots initiatives through Peacebuilder Clubs.
From Peace Poles to Positive Peace Training, RAGFP builds synergy between action and advocacy. Members receive access to expert speaker series, peace-building resources, and global partnerships.
Launched in March 2024, the Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP) India Chapter is a vibrant extension of the global RAGFP movement, created to localize peacebuilding efforts across India’s diverse cultural, social, and linguistic landscape. The Chapter was founded by Rtn. Smita Vikhankar of Rotary Club of Pune Hillside, RID 3131, who serves as its Founder Chair, bringing together passionate Rotarians and volunteers committed to building peace one step at a time.

First In-Person Board Meeting of the RAGFP India Chapter
The first in-person Board Meeting of the India Chapter was held at PYC Pune on 7th July 2025. This meeting was graced by several RID 3131 District Leaders.
While the Chapter deliberated on their planned discussion on strategic planning for the chapter, DG Santosh Marathe graced them with his presence and applauded their efforts in peace. Later, RID 3131 Peace Fellow Dr. Milind Pande briefed the group on his peace initiatives after his peace scholarship at the Rotary Peace Institute.
Post lunch, PDG Manju Phadke came over and gave insights on the Symbiosis Peace University. She was joined by the RID 3131 District Peace Team led by Peace Director Rtn. Vijay Raikar and his team. President Rajendra Mahetre of RCP Hillside and his club visited the group to felicitate the members and present the club flags.
The India Chapter members from Chennai, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Thane, and Bareilly had wonderful interactions with RID 3131 and carried beautiful memories from the event.
