It is indeed a moment of pride and a honour to be appointed as an Assistant Governor for the district 3131 for RIY 25-26.Nevetheless it is also a huge responsibility entrusted to us by the DG ,serving as a crucial link to ensure smooth communication, effective coordination and consistent progress towards Rotary’s goals. By regularly visiting the clubs, the AG helps maintain alignment with the district objectives and Rotary’s core values. It is also very important that the interaction should be in sync with the culture of each club. The interactive training imparted to us during AGAC helped us in implementing the same very effectively.
I was fortunate to be allotted clubs with very impressive track records i.e. RCP SOUTH, SHIVAGINAGAR, SHANIWARWADA, ROYAL and UP TOWN.I express my sincere gratitude towards D G Rtn Santosh Marathe for giving me this opportunity. I also thank the First Lady Rtn Tanuja Marathe for her invaluable guidance as she was also the AG of Four of these clubs. All the above clubs are administratively very strong and have implemented many innovative and impactful projects including Global Grants.
RCP SHIVAGINAGAR (Fortunate to be their AG) have chartered a new club RCP AIRWINGS this year .It is club with 32 members. The charter was presented to them by none other than our R I President Rtn Francesco Arezzo and D G Rtn Santosh Marathe during the inauguration of the peace center at Symbiosis, Lavale. I think this is one of the rarest and momentous occasion and event. The installation ceremony in the presence of our D G was also very impressive indeed.
The AG and DG visits to the clubs allotted to us, are indeed a very enriching experiences. Interaction with senior members of these clubs help us get fresh and new insights about rotary and its core values. The most important value addition of being AG was that I made many new friends which I think is the essence of rotary. During these visits, I think there are also a few take ways for us as AGs. There is learning curve from each of the clubs, which can be implemented in our own clubs and the district as well.
By the end of our tenure as AG I am sure that all of us will see a very positive change in our personality, in our confidence and enhanced leadership qualities.
