Dementia Awareness Project – A Successful Initiative
The Dementia Awareness Project of Rotary Club of Pune Royal was conducted at Snehdham, Senior Citizen Entertainment Center, Bharti Vidyapeeth English Medium School, Erandawane, Pune.
Riddhi Jagdale and her team from Aaji Care Geriatric Centre gave excellent information in very simple and easy-to-understand language about what dementia is, its symptoms, and the brain games that can help prevent it.
Dr. Anuradha Naralkar, Founder of Snehdham (Recreation Center for Senior Citizen) appreciated this program and requested to conduct similar programs at other branches of Snehdham.
A 10-minute screening test was conducted. Those who showed some difficulties in this test were advised to consult a neurologist.
A total of 35 senior citizens benefited from this session and all of them completed the screening test.
All the senior citizens found this lecture extremely useful and said that this information was very essential.
