Highlights And Review of District Events-Mega tree plantation Back

Mega tree plantation at your green city Dehu on 20th July  from 7.30 am to 2 pm


The Mega tree plantation is planned in Association with Evo Green City by District Environment avenue. Rotaract District 3131, Environment Club of India, Ecologic Foundation, Marathi Vigyan Parishad, Giant Group of Pune are the associate organisations. 

The program was planned under the leadership of Director EnvironmentPHF, PDRR, PP Rtn Rajendrakumar Saraf. Support given by DG Santosh Marathe helped the team to make it a grand success. Total 535 participants from Rotary & Rotaract Clubs, family Rotary friends and members of other organisations participated in this program.

 After the breakfast inauguration program began with the National anthem followed by Dip prajwalan & Vruksh Pujan by dignitaries & representatives of participating organisations and the dignity. DG Santosh Marathe, Mr. Sandip Sonigra, Director, Orange County, Shr. Shivaji More, Trustee, Shri Vitthal Rukmini devsthan Pandharpur, Rtn. Satyanarayan Kabra, representing District Director Rtn. Rajendrakumar Saraf, Mrs. Pooja Divte, Nagaradhyaksh of Dehu Nagar Parishad & Mr. Yashwant Limaye, Social Activist shared their views on importance of tree plantation. Rtn Saraf shares his thoughts on Enhancing Green Cover through Podcast. 

The event was seamlessly anchored by Rtn. Dr. Gauri Joshi, President of RCP West Side and Chairperson of the EndPlasticSoup Vertical. All participants joined Vruksh Dindi. The plantation event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 57 Rotary Clubs, over 80 Rotaractors, and school children, creating a vibrant atmosphere for tireless efforts for enhancing green cover. All have enjoyed fellowship with nature and the friends coupled with Walk through nature. Record break +3000 saplings are planted. The event ended with a delicious lunch. 

All efforts were made to make the event with minimum carbon footprint and plastic free. Participants were requested to come by car-pooling. It was a totally environmentally friendly event. The Mega Tree Plantation was not just an event—it was an ‘Offering to mother nature to start, a green procession of hope, responsibility, and collective action. Rotary once again demonstrated that when people come together with purpose, they can truly make the world greener and better.
