Report on Green Expo 2025-26 dtd 28 Feb - 1st Mar 2026.
This year the Rotary Green expo started on an enthusiastic note with over eighty stalls being registered.
This was organised under leadership of Director Green Society Rtn. Keshav Tamankar, host President Rtn.Swati Yadav & PE Rtn. Prashaant Aklekar. The response was overwhelming from the stall holders & with the theme being on focus there over 90-95% stalls on theme itself.
The stalls included companies from Solar, Environment, Recycle, Ewaste, organic foods, rain water Harvesting & other. The prime partners & associates were Tata Green Batteries, Vanarai, Shroff Foundation & Pune Municipal Corporation.
The expo was inaugurated by the Water Man of India Dr. Rajendra Singhji on 28th mar morning alongwith the Rotary District Governor Rtn. Santosh Marathe by watering the plants. Some of the words spoken by the Chief guest put us in deep thought on the challenges our mother earth is facing & could be even worse in the upcoming years.
While RCP Wisdom was the host club there were other fourteen clubs involved & synergy partners. Some of the NGOs involved were Vanarai, IGBC, ESI, & Ecosun.
Sessions were also conducted on each of the days on various topics related to the Green Theme like Climate change, Air pollution, Recycle on both of the days. Team of Vanarai were instrumental of staging a play & Kirtan on importance of Environment & Waste Management.
The Pune people supported the event by coming in large numbers & making this a grand success. The show ended with a valedictory function which was attended by Tata Auto Comp Mr. Arun Goel , IT magnet Deepak Shikarpur. Also CSR awards were given to companies working in this domain which included Praj Industries, Vulcan Technologies, Fleetguard, Oerlicon Balzers.
