Support to 6 Anganwadis in Maval by Rotary Club*
The Rotary Club of Nigdi, Pune and Rotary club of Pune Riverside have jointly undertaken a social and commendable initiative to enable Anganwadis in Maval taluka to develop educational infrastructure. They have allocated approximately ₹25 lakhs for this purpose, which has been widely appreciated in the taluka.
Project Details
- The project involves constructing rooms and sheds in six Anganwadis, providing e-learning tutorials with color TVs, play materials, interior and exterior painting, “talking walls,” flooring, doors, windows, tables, chairs, bookshelves for libraries, cooking utensils for mid-day meals, drinking water facilities, toilets, drainage connections for toilets and water tanks, electrical wiring, fans, and lights.
- The project was conceptualized by Anurag Jalan, CSR donor and CEO of Axela Research and Analytics Private Limited, Kolkata. He contributed ₹18 lakhs out of the total ₹25 lakhs. The remaining funds were raised by the Rotary Club of Pune Riverside and Rotary Club of Nigdi.
Inauguration Ceremony
Attendees at the inauguration included Rotarian Reshma Hajite (Secretary Rotary Pune Riverside), Milind Patil (Past president Rotary Club of Pune Riverside), Harbinder Singh (Past president of Rotary Nigdi), Rakesh Singhania, local sarpanch, deputy sarpanch, Anganwadi teachers, assistants, villagers, and parents of children.

CA Umesh Jalan stated that due to a lack of adequate funds, Anganwadis in rural areas do not develop fully. Hence, they undertook this project to provide necessary facilities to Anganwadis. He expressed the hope that the provided resources would be utilized effectively.
This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to providing quality educational infrastructure to children in rural areas.
