PROJECT 1: Adult Literacy Program:
This initiative focuses on empowering illiterate adult women by enabling them to read, write and perform basic arithmetic. Classes run for about 9 months with 15–20 participants per batch, scheduled in the evening to suit their daily routines. Over the past 7–8 years, more than 400 womenhave been trained. Recently, new centres were initiated at Shinoli, Vadavali, Kamshet and Shrealwadiin partnership with Adim Samstha and Shiv-Vidya Pratishthan
PROJECT 2: Micro Credit for Women Entrepreneurs
Through collaboration with NGO Chaitanya, Self-Help Groups (SHGs) enable women to access micro loans of ₹25,000–₹50,000for livelihood activities. With an impressive 99%+ recovery rate, funds are recycled to support new beneficiaries every 24–30 months. The club has raised ₹6.61 lakh, of which ₹6.5 lakhhas already been deployed for the project launched at Dahivadi, Satara.
PROJECT 3: GHAR – Support for Orphan Girls
Our club supports GHAR, an institution caring for orphan and marginalized girls (ages 6–14). With a contribution of ₹1.46 lakh, the initiative helps provide education, mentoring and aspiration-building activities. The girls have shown remarkable academic performance, reflecting the positive impact of this support
PROJECT 4: Environment & Sustainability Initiatives
Rotaraii Green Project (Baner Hill): Over 44,000 trees planted in the last 18 years, with continued annual plantation drives.
Clean Pune – 5R Drive: Promotes Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair and distributes collected clothes, toys and books to needy communities.
Zero Waste Initiative: Compost pits installed in 8 educational institutions, benefiting 25,000+ people and promoting sustainable waste management practices.
PROJECT 5: Community Welfare Projects
Sleeping Kits Distribution: Over 550 kits distributed to students at ZP School, Loni Kalbhor in collaboration with multiple Rotary clubs.
Eye Check-up & Surgery Camps: Hundreds screened, with spectacles provided and free surgeries arranged through H. V. Desai Hospital.
Organ Donation Awareness Walkathon: 4th consecutive year event with ~500 participants, raising awareness about organ donation.
PROJECT 6: Education & Youth Development
Teachers Awards: Recognizing educators who go beyond their call of duty.
Women Entrepreneurs Awards: A prestigious 39-year legacy program, with the 2026 ceremony scheduled on 25 March 2026.
Engineering Students Scholarship: Supporting meritorious students for the past 11 years.
Spell Bee Competition & Rotary Innovision: Initiatives promoting language skills, entrepreneurship and innovation among students.
PROJECT 7: Preventive Healthcare – Health ATM Initiative
The club is working on deploying Health ATMs in rural and semi-urban areas to enable low-cost preventive health checkups, including 60+ vital health parameters, AI-based health insights and telemedicine integration.
Through these initiatives, our club continues to work toward education, women empowerment, healthcare, environmental sustainability and youth development.
