In a powerful convergence of environmental advocacy and celebration of women's leadership, the Rotary Club of Baramati, along with Rotary International District 3131, supported by Environment Avenue, hosted a dynamic Environment Seminar on the 11th of March in Baramati. This event was co-hosted by RC Sarati Delight, RC Indapur, RC Daund, RC Kurkumbh MIDC, and RC Bhigwan Rotary clubs.
Timed to coincide with International Women's Day, the seminar focused on the crucial role of women in addressing climate change. A panel discussion, featuring unsung heroines from the region, showcased novel ideas and initiatives led by women in the fight against environmental degradation.
The seminar, a full-day affair, culminated in a stimulating question-answer session that left participants inspired and engaged. Trophies were awarded to the speakers and unsung heroines, while certificates were distributed among the attendees, recognizing their commitment to environmental stewardship.
District Governor Rtn Manjoo Phadke and District Environment Avenue co-chair Rtn Rajendrakumar Saraf graced the occasion with their insights and encouragement. The event also featured a display of medicinal plants, providing valuable information on sustainable practices for the attendees.
The distinguished speakers at the seminar included Piyadarshini Karve, Sonali Shinde and Sujata Kodag, whose expertise and passion for environmental conservation added depth to the discussions. With a total of 110 participants, the seminar underscored the community's commitment to a sustainable future, driven by the active participation of women in environmental action.
