District Youth Team Organizes Successful RYLA - Innovision 2024 Back

Following the success of the Interact Conference in January, the District Youth team, along with associate Rotary clubs, began final preparations for the exclusive Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) event of the year - INNOVISION 2024.

The event was planned in two phases, with the first phase taking place at the Indira Group of Institutes, Tathavade campus on 10-11th February for college and post-graduate students. The second phase was held on 28th and 29th February at GMRT (Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope) near Narayangaon, coinciding with National Science Day. The collaboration between GMRT and Rotary, an external agency for the first time, was a matter of immense pride for RID 3131, thanks to the efforts of the District Team and members of RC Poona North.

Innovision 2024, a multi-district Residential RYLA at IGI campus, was attended by more than 400 students from over 30 districts of Maharashtra. The two-day program featured sessions by prominent figures from academia, social organizations and the corporate world, aimed at grooming the attendees into successful leaders. The event was made possible by the efforts of Host Clubs RC Poona North, RCP Deccan Gymkhana and Co-Host Clubs RC Nigdi, RCP Shivaji Nagar and RC Udyognagari, along with the support of the IGI Management and staff.

The financial and logistic support from IGI under the astute leadership of Dr. Tarita Shankar, Chairperson IGI, was crucial for the event's success. The event received wide publicity in popular newsprint and extensive coverage on social media platforms.

Innovision 2024, phase II at Narayangaon, was equally successful, with over 25,000 students visiting from various parts of the country to witness exemplary and innovative science projects. The event was organized for school children and showcased working models across various age groups. The efforts of Convenor Rtn Mohan Poojary and President RC Poona North, Rtn Deepti Poojary, were commendable.

Additionally, a Multi-District RYLA at RID 3150 (Hyderabad) was conducted between 3rd to 6th February 2024, focusing on Entrepreneurship Development, Challenges and Opportunities. The event was well-received, with students benefiting from sessions and interactions with experts, including a visit to T-Hub, the largest innovation centre in India.

Throughout February, several RYLA events were conducted by Rotary clubs, highlighting the commitment to youth development and leadership. These events were instrumental in providing valuable learning experiences and networking opportunities for participants.

The month also witnessed the unique Raigad District Cultural competition for Special Children, which was appreciated by all attendees. Installation programs of newly chartered Interact and Rotaract Clubs were also held, graced by members from the District Youth Service team.

The District Rotaract Conference "YUG" was organized at Panchgani, providing Rotaractors with a platform for activity-based learning sessions, networking, and enjoyment over three days.
